In a shocking upset, Donald Trump has defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, marking the end of a bitter and divisive battle that has left the American political landscape shattered. What will the victory of the maverick candidate mean for the Washington establishment? And how will Trump transform the American society? Stephen Cohen, professor emeritus at Princeton University, author and contributing editor at “The Nation” magazine is on SophieCo to discuss this.

Dr Cohen, in the mid seventies, I was a Soviet Studies Major. I received a doctorate in a different field.
In the seventies, I thought that your were as close to a party member as possible. I have followed you over the years. Now you seem like the only accurate, historically based, speaker that I agree with. One of us changed, maybe me. I always enjoy your interviews.

Noname Noslogan says:

What DIFFICULT agenda?
Stop illegal entry. Deport illegal entrants – they're NOT immigrants. Build the wall and excellent border control. Lower personal and business taxes.
End and replace Obamacare.
End NAFTA. End TPP and TTIP.
Rebuild crumbling infrastructure. Create jobs.
This Sophie woman is a real moron. None of these things are radical or difficult

Noname Noslogan says:

"Hillary had experience, you gotta hand it to her"

Yeah she had experience.
BAD experience. dumb ass

No Names says:

What concerns me is that vast majority of Westerners and Americans in particular get their world outlooks shaped by mainstream media.
These media brainwash very masterfully.
Even today it's propaganda remains effective for this none-questioning majority of westerners.
Most still view world by the: "We – all good" and "Them – evil", simply out of convenience and habit.
This despite the fact that their own governments, fueled by corruption are taking away from average citizens more than those foreign ones painted as evil, like China, or Russia.
US government spend astronomical amounts of money on militarization and wars.
It's enough to say that US is spending more money on militarization than the closest superpowers, like China, Russia, India, GB, France, Germany combined. COMBINED!
Funny thing is that it doesn't make US more secure. In case of a nuclear rocket strikes exchange the life on planet Earth as we know it is going to end.

Sophie should refresh her scanty knowledge of political science as well as taking a course of high school US Civics. She has no idea of what this election means for the multiculturalist / globalistic agenda. Stephen Cohen is extremely intelligent and rational thinking expert. His excellent book on the post Soviet Russia The Failed Crusade is the best among a plethora of interpretations.

jackass007ify says:

Trump does not stand for populism or against Neoliberalism. People just voted against the staus quo and for an inexperienced, racist whose only positive is his anti war stance.

Josh Godoy says:

the analysts don't know shit. down with Hillary. the people have spoken in the polls!! fuck Obama and fuck rasist democrats and their media slaves!!

Hippasus says:

The Future is no longer dependent on who gets elected President, there is no future for most of us. Kiss your ass goodby…

John Miranda says:

Racist white supremacy is so deeply ingrained in white American culture, the good doctor could not even recognize it in his own discourse.

Donald Trump race-baited his followers like the pied pipers of Brexit, who decry dark-skinned immigrants being fed with their tax dollars. This is not what the alabasters signed up for, plain and simple. Trump made it more explicit when he vowed to deport all undocumented "Mexicans," meaning any Hispanic from south of the US-Mexican border, i.e. the bottom of the United States.

Trump simply legitimized the ingrained and inbred discrimination based on race and religion, not to mention physical disability. To put this in Trump's perspective, If you're not a redneck, you don't belong here.

Giovanni Truvia says:

in Killary's own words and in honor to her "Trump came, Trump saw, Killary lost"

Barry Sharp says:

Stephen Cohen comes across as a smart guy but the interviewer's ego kept getting in the way.

MrThanksButNoThanks says:

oh we want to know this retarded jew's opinion on anything why ?
RT you are really boring as fuck

manatee2500 says:

Gimme the scoop dear Pravda faithful….. so if McCain and others tell Trump: No Russian love – and sanctions still in place. Does that still mean war? Same if Clinton won, correct?

Admiral Kuznetsov was bad p.r. move– it only scared San Marino and Andorra. Next time, leave her in Murmansk if she can't make it on such a short trip without a tug. At least you were sending your Baltic fleet to Japan (like 1905), but it does beg the comparison.

the day is nigh says:

I hope trump watches this
